- What I Drive
- 2013 Q5 2.0T
I have purchase 2 Audi's in my life - a 5000s which I mourned when I sold it. The latest is a 2013 Q5 2.0T, which I loved and pampered with every Audi dealership service could provide. Got to 125000 miles and the engine lost compression on one cylinder and Audi price a long block replacement at 14,000$. I almost threw up. Home I went, found a used 2.0 and had it installed. 3 months later, after about 2000 miles this engine threw a rod right thru the block.....the engine provider will warranty me another engine. I think that I will put new rods, bearing, main bearings, pistons and values in this block. My wife LOVES this vehicle or I would have torched it two weeks ago when the replacement engine blew. A friend of mine asked if I thought using Liqui Moly 20232 Molygen New Generation 5W40 Motor Oil had caused the thrown rod. All the research I've done says that Liqui Moly is an 'unprade' from Castrol? Oh year, the replacement engine burned a quart of Castrol Edge every 500 miles. Thus the switch to Liqui Moly. Advice my brothers and sister?
